Accelerator signs Tracking Systems, Inc. as newest associate client

March 28, 2011

The Accelerator has a proven track record with its Associate Client Plan and that is precisely why GPS technology firm Tracking Systems, Inc. has chosen the Accelerator to grow its presence in the Hudson Valley.

Tracking Systems, a women-owned business, specializes in producing customized GPS solutions for public, private and business use. Though the company provides standard GPS tracking systems for cars, trucks and trailers, it’s taking the possibilities of GPS to new heights with its integration of sensors.

These sensors have the ability to monitor temperature for keeping produce, meat and cheese fresh, as well as oil pump operation and snow plow position on a truck. These integrated features allow a fleet manager or business owner to remotely scrutinize a variety of systems for each car or truck on the system.

It’s quite the remarkable product and we are eager to help them promote it across Orange County, Hudson Valley and beyond!

From L to R: Orange County Business Accelerator Enterprise Development Director Peter Gregory and Managing Director Michael DiTullo recently work on business strategies with Robert Glemming, Vice President Marketing and Sales for Tracking Systems, the Accelerator’s newest associate client.

In joining the Accelerator, they’ve come to the right place for expert entrepreneurial advice and guidance. With the new firm, 15 clients and tenants have now realized the competitive advantage of working with the Accelerator.

These firms currently employ more than 45 people at the Accelerator’s 4 London Ave., New Windsor, N.Y., office and have the potential to create between 350 and 500 jobs in Orange County in the next five years.

Accelerator couples media relations, event coordination to garner TV attention

March 21, 2011

Last week, the Accelerator sold out its epic seminar with world renowned international commercialization expert Guven Yalcintas, PhD at Homewood Suites in New Windsor, N.Y. The same week, we signed a new associate client – a G.P.S. tracking company to be announced soon.

This scene was ripe for a great media opportunity at the Accelerator, and YNN Hudson Valley was there to take advantage of it. See the story here.

The story featured Peter Hartmayer, of CymoGen Dx (our third client), as well as the guest speaker at our special event, Dr. Yalcintas.

CymoGen Dx has made great strides since joining the Accelerator in early 2010. Originally from Orange County, Ca., the cancer research equipment firm saw the economic opportunity in Orange County, N.Y. and seized the competitive advantage with help from the Accelerator. The company is currently working on state-of-the-art patents that could change the time frame available to for doctors to detect early-stage cancerous cells.

The seminar, titled “Thinking Like Einstein and Inventing Like DaVinci,” highlighted several techniques used by both Einstein and DaVinci to help themselves think outside of the box and become innovative problem solvers- the very traits that entrepreneurs these days could use to pioneer the next big invention.

Dr. Yalcintas addresses a packed crowd at Homewood Suites.

The realm of media relations has long been a great strategy for entrepreneurial success. Together with strong marketing and advertising, we’ve been able to enhance the profile of the Accelerator with much help from our editorial allies.

Now entering the 70th week in operation, we’d like to thank YNN, as well as our other media partners in success around the Hudson Valley for realizing the mission of the Accelerator and helping to spread the word of innovation to our publics.
