Orange County Business Accelerator Introduces Two New Speaker Series

New Windsor, N.Y. – October 18, 2010 – Orange County Business Accelerator is proud to announce the creation of two new speaker series in response to a growing demand for educational events from the business community.

In the month of October, the Accelerator will host its first Pop-Up Knowledge Series, a monthly early-bird series, and Service Provider Series, a series focused on the service industry. Both speaker series will focus on bringing together entrepreneurs and small business owners from around the Northeast to discuss hot business development issues to help them grow and prosper, much like the already popular Entrepreneur Knowledge Series, currently in its tenth month of operation.

Enterprise Development Director Peter Gregory said, “During its first year, the Accelerator has created business connections with too many good resources for business executives than a once-a-month schedule would allow. So we are introducing a parallel knowledge series, as well as one for service providers who we feel represent value in key areas of early- and small-business growth.”

Managing Director Michael DiTullo added, “The response we have received from the Entrepreneur Knowledge Series has been so great that we’ve decided to expand our speaker series so that we may facilitate even better communication between businessmen and women, public and business leaders in Orange County and surrounding areas. After a brief summer hiatus, the speaker series has come back stronger than ever, with more events and hotter topics.”

On Thursday, Oct 21, the first Pop-Up Knowledge Series will feature “Which Way Is Your Exit?” by Ed Baloga, of Baloga Associates, LLC, at 7:30 a.m. at the Accelerator’s office in New Windsor, N.Y. Baloga understands the challenges faced by entrepreneurs as he was a co-founder of a consumer goods company in the HBA industry. He has worked in the toy industry at CBS Inc. and at Matchbox Toys (helping the latter become the first Southeast Asia based company to go public on the NYSE).

On Tuesday, Oct. 26, the first Service Provider Series will feature a presentation by Jim Sandler of The Alternative Board at noon at the Accelerator office. The Alternative Board creates, manages and facilitates advisory boards comprised of local business owners, presidents, and CEOs who run non-competing businesses.

On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Accelerator invites guests to learn from the Hudson Valley’s Certified Lean Office Expert Cynthia Marsh-Croll, of Croll Productive Synergy, on “Streamlining from the Starting Gate: Build Advantages for your Startup Right from the Start.” The networking event starts at 11:30 a.m. and runs until 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, payable at the door.
