ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS ACCELERATOR OPENS ITS DOORS, UNVEILS NEW LOGO

New Windsor, N.Y. – October 28, 2009 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) officially opened its doors this week and unveiled the new eye-catching company logo during a ribbon cutting ceremony at its headquarters at Stewart International Airport.

“To the nearly 200 businessmen and women and public officials here today, you are now standing at the intersection of capital and talent,” said Michael J. DiTullo, managing director of OCBA. “Capital will go where it is wanted and stay where it is treated well. The Accelerator is where your business can create wealth, opportunity and real jobs real close to home.”

Orange County business and municipal leaders open OCBA in traditional business fashion.

The Accelerator features 10,000 square feet of office, R & D and flex space for entrepreneurs to help launch new and existing businesses to new levels of success. State-of-the-art high speed internet, a 14-person conference room equipped with an integrated audio/video system and a dynamic reception area highlight the Accelerator’s competitive advantage.

The Accelerator’s logo, created by its public relations agency Focus Media, incorporates the county color, a crafty font and a colorful design of objects in motion. The logo represents a metaphor connecting jets flying in and out of Stewart International Airport and the Accelerator’s client businesses. It expresses the notion that while a business grows and expands beyond Orange County’s borders, the benefits are still returned to the local economy.

Orange County Executive Edward Diana said, “Orange County needs job creation and new business growth. That has to be top priority in moving forward and the Accelerator will help achieve those goals and broaden the scope of commerce here. Orange County is officially open for business.”

James R. Petro, Jr., Chairman of Orange County IDA, added “This is Orange County’s internal stimulus package. What the Orange County Business Accelerator is offering is state-of-the-art office space, a great catalyst for jumpstarting businesses in Orange County. With the help of one of the Hudson Valley’s greatest thinkers, Michael DiTullo, and its new Client Services Specialist Kelly Reilly, the Accelerator is sure to be a success.”

George Green, Supervisor of Town of New Windsor, stated: “This is a great day for New Windsor and Orange County. When County Executive Edward Diana came to me with this idea, I instantly thought Stewart International Airport would make a great location for a business development center. Here we are, in this state-of-the-art office space, ready to facilitate business growth and job creation. The grand opening signifies the beginning in a long line of accomplishments this center will achieve.”

Michael Oates, President of Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, stated: “The opening of programs like the Orange County Business Accelerator represent a new era in the Hudson Valley. Orange County Business Accelerator, located at 4 London Avenue in New Windsor on the grounds of Stewart International Airport, is a business accelerator program launched by the Orange County Industrial Development Agency. ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS ACCELERATOR HIRES CLIENT SERVICES SPECIALIST

New Windsor, N.Y. – October 20, 2009 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) Managing Director Michael J. DiTullo today announced the hiring of Kelly Reilly as Client Services Specialist.

Reilly, of Wallkill, N.Y., has spent 27 years of her professional career at IBM, where she worked in numerous capacities, mostly in Production Control and Quality Assurance. She is proficient in numerous office management and manufacturing operations and has completed over two dozen safety and operations courses during her IBM career.

Reilly was hired by IBM as a Manufacturing Operator in 1983, and quickly rose through the ranks to become a Program Analyzer, a post she held for almost 20 years. Reilly was most recently a Team Leader, where she implemented decision-making skills and provided direction in cost-cutting, idea generation and operational procedures.

DiTullo said, “At IBM, Kelly worked with Sony, Toshiba, Siemens and other global high-tech firms. Her high-tech customer service experience brings great value to our team. She will work with OCBA clients on IT needs, mentor relationships and other pertinent requirements as they arise.”

Reilly is a graduate of Wallkill Senior High School and continued her education at Orange County Community College. Reilly has an impressive volunteer record, which includes 14 years between Wallkill Youth Football and Wallkill High School Football. She also organized a team and did extensive fundraising for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in New York City.

ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS ACCELERATOR SELECTS FOCUS MEDIA AS AGENCY OF RECORD

New Windsor, N.Y. – September 29, 2009 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) Managing Director Michael J. DiTullo today announced the selection of Focus Media, Inc. as the incubator program’s advertising and public relations agency of record.

Focus Media, an eight-person agency owned by company president and CEO Josh Sommers, is a full-service strategic communications firm with core competencies in public relations, branding, advertising, Web development and market research. Clients Focus Media represent include Walden Savings Bank, Monticello Casino & Raceway, Verticon LTD, Brookfield Resource Management, Catskill Regional Medical Center, Black Creek Holdings and JP Packaging.

Focus Media has started development of a Web site, as well as design of a logo and collateral materials. The firm will also be providing OCBA with on-going marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies to attract entrepreneurs and raise overall awareness of the program.

“We interviewed a number of agencies and Focus Media stood out from the rest,” said DiTullo. “We needed a full-service agency, with an economic development background, that could manage all marketing touch points.”

DiTullo added, “The Orange County Business Accelerator is where talent and entrepreneurs can come to fast track their company’s growth. Focus Media represents the youthful and energetic entrepreneurial style that we live and breathe every day.”

Sommers, whose had offices in Monticello since founding the company in 2002, expanded with a second office in Goshen in July. He stated, “We are looking forward to working with Mike and his team to create compelling messages and advertising, along with a strong presence in the news media and on the Web, that will attract the types of businesses which create new sustainable jobs and opportunities.”
