OCBA Signs Cyber Security Firm

New Windsor, N.Y. – January 30, 2012 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) recently introduced Cyber Security Auditors and Administrators (CSA²) as its newest associate client.

Founded by a team of risk management experts, CSA² provides information risk management services and risk elimination products. It offers companies and professional organizations a reliable way to measure curren risk exposure to potential cyber intrusions and to maintain compliance with state and federal laws.

Michael DiTullo, managing director at the Accelerator, said, “The realm of social media has added an element of exposure to companies large and small, and firms like CSA² provide the tools necessary to identify and rectify potential risks. The Accelerator is glad to have them on board and encourage businesses around Orange County to inquire about how they could potentially save your business.”

CSA² provides a variety of services and products, including incident management, computer and mobile forensics.

OCBA Co-sponsors Regional Capital Investment Forum

New Windsor, N.Y. – January 18, 2012 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) co-sponsored the annual Upstate Venture Association of New York (UVANY) Hudson Valley Capital Forum for the third time in a row – this year adding successful breakout sessions with venture capitalists from around New York State.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, entrepreneurs, established business owners and those looking to jumpstart ideas into reality packed the Accelerator for its first-time breakout sessions with early-stage investors. Business owners, including Accelerator clients, occupied 20 rooms at the Accelerator throughout the afternoon. The sessions provided for a unique educational opportunity for business owners to meet and network with Upstate and NYC capital providers, legal and accounting firms and others interested in venture and private equity transactions.

“The Accelerator was really buzzing with talent throughout the afternoon,” said OCBA Business Development Director Peter Gregory. “Capital investment experts came from as far as Buffalo and Rochester to discuss investment options with Accelerator clients and other businesses in Orange County. To say it was a success is an understatement.”

Attendees flowed from the Accelerator just down the street to Homewood Suites, also in New Windsor, N.Y., to further network and participate in a forum emceed by Brian Cohen, Chairman of the New York Angels.

Orange County Business Accelerator Signs Parallel Media

New Windsor, N.Y. – January 10, 2012 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) recently introduced Parallel Media as its newest associate client.

Founded in 2005, Parallel Media publishes two local independent online news sites, News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson and Newburgh Circle. Both online publications provide up-to-the minute local news, along with stories about the community and business development, the arts, schools and entertainment.

Michael DiTullo, managing director at the Accelerator, said, “Parallel Media has grown to become a well-trusted source of information in the Cornwall and Newburgh communities. Nancy has done a great job building this reputation and we hope to be a great catalyst for further growth in the future.”

Nancy Peckanham, editor of the websites, is a village resident who brings 25 years of journalism experience. She’s an author, past executive producer at CNN in Atlanta and in New York, and has produced six documentaries on issues of global conflicts that have aired on PBS and internationally.

News from Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson features a public forum for discussion of ideas about the village and town, as well as in-depth articles about the village’s past and plans for its future. The site also offers the My Cornwall feature, a community blog and photography host, as well as classifieds. Newburgh Circle features local human interest stories, neighborhood and community news, as well as an events calendar updatable by viewers.

DiTullo added, “The Accelerator, now with 21 clients/tenants and nearly 60 people working at our facility, is not holding back the throttle at the beginning of this New Year. With the addition of Parallel Media, we continue our quest to become the epicenter of business development in the Hudson Valley.”

Orange County Business Accelerator Introduces Community Communications

New Windsor, N.Y. – October 26, 2011 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) recently introduced Community Communications as its newest resident client.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, OCBA Managing Director Michael J. DiTullo was joined by State Senator William Larkin in introducing the communications and event management start-up’s president/CEO and Orange County resident David Rein to current clients and supporters at the Accelerator’s office in New Windsor, N.Y.

Community Communications President/CEO David Rein addresses other Orange County Business Accelerator clients and supporters on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Accelerator office at 4 Crotty Lane, New Windsor, N.Y.

“The idea for this company started out back in 1993 and is now beginning a new phase in its life,” said Rein. “I initially connected with the Accelerator at the Orange County Chamber of Commerce business expo last month and immediately realized the Accelerator would be my best chance at success.”

Sen. Larkin added, “I’ve known David since he was knee high to a grasshopper and I know he’s dedicated to making this company successful. Orange County Business Accelerator is the perfect place for David to utilize the skills he has learned in the communications field and help take his company to new heights.”

“From Concept to Completion,” as Rein puts it in the form of a company slogan, Community Communications offers event planning, teleconferencing, video conferencing, A/V equipment and services, video production services and more.

Community Communications was established in 1993 and started out as a communications program at an elementary school in the state. The program still exists and has been replicated throughout New York State. Since then, the company has grown to service local and regional TV stations, including CNN, Fox-TV, ABC-TV NY, NewsCenter 6 (Cablevision in Dutchess County), News 12 The Bronx (Cablevision) and RNN-TV.

Under a previous corporation, the company provided communications services to senior level clients in the Government, Legal, Medical, Pharmaceutical and other industries at venues such as: United Nations, Rockefeller Center, The Yale Club and The Ritz. The company is currently owned by Chai on Life, LLC.

DiTullo added, “Orange County is dedicated to retaining and growing businesses and the Accelerator provides the tools for companies like Community Communications to grow and prosper. Orange County Business Accelerator Signs Synergy Development as Newest Associate Client
